Product Overview
The Siemens S5 driver exchanges data between OPC clients and Siemens S5 PLCs using the AS511 protocol, which allows a direct connection to the programming port of the PLC. The programming port utilizes a Current Loop connection, requiring the use of either the supplied programming cable or an external RS-232 to Current Loop converter. Kepware automatically optimizes data acquisition based on client demand and ensures data integrity through extensive error handling.
